AP Poll: Majority of Americans Priced Out of MLB Tickets

According to an AP poll put out today, 63% of Americans say the steep cost of attending a game was MLB’s #1 problem. Issues involving players making too much money or taking steroids lagged far behind. While MLB attendance is down over 6% this year, ticket prices are up about 5%.

Of course, ticket prices are only the start. Add in travel, parking, over-priced food and souvenirs and the cost of taking a family to a game can be prohibitive. Ironically, we took our family to a Twins vs. Yankees game yesterday and it ended up costing hundreds of dollars by the time it was said-and-done.

As Twins outfielder Denard Span states in the above story, “So if ticket prices are going up, especially with the economy as bad as it is right now, where people can’t afford to come to games, I think something definitely needs to be adjusted”. Unfortunately for Span and others, that may mean an “adjustment” in salaries.

Another Horrible PSA/DNA Mistake

PSA/DNA slabbed and “authenticated” this signature of, as PSA/DNA has labeled it, “James Earl Jones” the famous actor:

James Earl Jones?

Oops! As even a novice can see, the signature is actually MLK assassin James Earl Ray! Unfortunately, many collectors have been conned into believing that PSA/DNA, JSA and GAI are some sort of “Gold Standard” but these kinds of horrendous mistakes are all too common.

Check back often as we’ll regularly be posting these kinds of errors by the “Big Authenticators”.
